How Much Bacteriostatic Water for CJC-1295 / Ipamorelin? 5/5 mg and 10/10 mg Vials

The CJC-1295 / Ipamorelin blend is sold in two vial sizes, and both are labelled with two numbers rather than one. That is where the arithmetic goes wrong. The tables below convert vial mass and solvent volume into concentration — nothing more. Choosing a volume is a measurement decision, not a protocol.

Read the label before you do any maths

A vial marked 5/5 mg holds 5 mg of CJC-1295 and 5 mg of Ipamorelin — 10 mg of total peptide mass in one vial. A vial marked 10/10 mg holds 10 mg of each, for 20 mg total.

Both compounds dissolve into the same solvent, so both end up at their own concentration in the same solution. One volume of solvent produces two concentrations. Neither of them is the number you get by treating the vial as a single 10 mg or 20 mg unit, which is the most common error we see with blends.

Worked example: a 10/10 mg vial reconstituted with 2 mL gives 5 mg/mL of each compound. Twenty units is 0.2 mL. 0.2 mL × 5 mg/mL = 1.0 mg of CJC-1295 and 1.0 mg of Ipamorelin, drawn together in the same 0.2 mL.

The syringe unit point almost every page gets wrong

An insulin syringe is graduated in units, which are a volume marking, not a mass. On both U-100 and U-50 insulin syringes, one unit corresponds to 0.01 mL. The difference is barrel capacity and gradation spacing — not the unit-to-volume relationship. A U-50 holds 0.5 mL across 50 units; a U-100 holds 1.0 mL across 100 units. Both are 100 units per millilitre.

The arithmetic for a blend is the single-compound formula run twice:

mass of compound A = (mg of A in the vial ÷ mL of solvent added) × (units × 0.01)

Why the two numbers stay locked together

Inference: Because both compounds are lyophilised in the same vial, the ratio between them is fixed at manufacture. Adding more or less solvent changes both concentrations by the same factor and never changes the ratio. A researcher who wants a different ratio needs separate single-compound vials — CJC-1295 No DAC and Ipamorelin are sold separately for that reason.

What limits how long the solution lasts

Sourced fact: The Bacteriostatic Water for Injection label directs: “Do not store reconstituted solutions of drugs for injection unless otherwise directed by the manufacturer of the solute.” The same label describes the product as supplied in “a multiple-dose container from which repeated withdrawals may be made to dilute or dissolve drugs for injection,” preserved with 0.9% or 1.1% benzyl alcohol. [1]

Inference: The widely-quoted 28-day figure describes the multiple-dose container of water, not what you dissolved in it. We traced that rule to its actual source — it is not printed on the FDA label at all — in where the 28-day rule actually comes from.
