Also known as: Decorinyl
Tripeptide-10 citrulline (trade name Decorinyl) is a synthetic short peptide designed to mimic the collagen-binding region of decorin, used as a cosmetic ingredient. Research consists of in-vitro collagen-fiber work and small cosmetic trials.
Decorin is a small proteoglycan that binds collagen fibrils and regulates their diameter. Tripeptide-10 citrulline was selected from a library of peptides mimicking decorin's collagen-binding sequences [1]. In vitro it regulated collagen fibrillogenesis, producing thinner, more uniform fibrils [1][4]; whether this occurs in living skin is not established.
