CJC-1295

Also known as: Mod GRF 1-29 (no DAC); CJC-1295 with DAC

CJC-1295 is a synthetic analog of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH 1-29). The published studies cover the 'with DAC' version, which binds albumin to extend its half-life; the 'no DAC' form (Mod GRF 1-29) has little dedicated peer-reviewed research. Data consist of early human pharmacology studies and rat work.

Mechanism studied

Established: CJC-1295 is built on the first 29 amino acids of GHRH and acts on the GHRH (GRF) receptor of the anterior pituitary, as shown in rats [1]. Established: the DAC (drug affinity complex) version binds circulating albumin, designed to extend its time in circulation; pharmacokinetics were measured in adults [2]. Reported: GH release remained pulsatile during continuous exposure [3]. These findings come from the DAC form; the no-DAC form lacks the albumin link and is expected to be much shorter-acting, but dedicated studies were not identified.
